Mike Haigh – The Inventor

Mike first thought of the concept of FloodKit® after the floods of 2007 and has spent the last 7 years refining and perfecting his designs in terms of efficacy and practicality – always bearing in mind that the products should be affordable to the widest possible market. In particular, he has thoroughly researched many different materials, with the assistance of eminent academics and large multinational organisations in order to achieve the best results.

Dave Broadbent – The Engineer

With over 30 years experience with British Aerospace, from Manufacturing Manager to Project Manager, Dave is the engineering heart of FloodKit®. With overall responsibility for materials and production, he specifies and tests all of the products along with Mike and maintains the company quality standards.

Hugh Mathew – The Businessman

Although he has a degree in Civil Engineering from Imperial College, London where he undertook projects involving dams and soil mechanics, Hugh’s prime role in FloodKit® is that of making sure the business runs smoothly. He has director level experience in a number of disciplines and is responsible for marketing and finance.

UCLan – The Academic Partner

The University of Central Lancashire has been involved with FloodKit® for the last two years. Through the university Innovations team, the company has been able to access university departments specialising in materials technology, mechanical engineering and media production. Purpose built test facilities have been constructed on campus and the University provided a house where the products were also tested.
